Hi! My name is Cavid Ağa (also known as Javid Agha or Javid Aga in English). I live at the crossroads of journalism, scholarship, and civic inquiry. I regularly write for bne IntelliNews and have appeared on the BBC, France 24, Times Radio, Talk Radio, Eurasianet, OC Media, Asia Times and many more places, discussing media dynamics and society in the South Caucasus.
In August 2024, I attempted to leave Azerbaijan for graduate studies, but I was detained at the airport—an incident that underscores the pressures independent journalists and researchers endure. Passing through Turkey and Bosnia for months, I am currently based in Warsaw, Poland, as a journalist in exile.
Besides journalism, I am also a writer, translator, web developer, aspiring linguist and amateur musician. Below, you can find out about my work in vast professional areas.
